Airy Baptist Church, Sturgis, MS. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is Friday March 7, 2014 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. At Century Hairston Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating.

MSU, EMCC was a benefit for Borchert

East Mississippi Community College and Mississippi State were both glad that Colin Borchert chose not to stay in the restaurant business.
While attending Yavapai Junior College in Prescott, Ariz., Borchert spent time working at a restaurant. It didn't take long for him to learn that serving food and wearing a tie was no life for him.

Bulldogs set for road test: MSU takes on Arizona, UC Santa Barbara at Classic

If you ask coach John Cohen, he will tell you that his Mississippi State squad has already been tested this season.
The Bulldogs (11-4) have already played some tough teams in Western Carolina, Memphis, Holy Cross, Eastern Illinois and Michigan State.
All those games took place for MSU at the friendly confines of Dudy Noble Field.

Bolin lives out dream, while playing at MC

Since he was a little boy, former Starkville Academy player Hunter Bolin has dreamed of playing on a bigger stage.
Recently, Bolin made that dream a reality when he joined on to play for the Mississippi College Choctaws.

Mississippi State senior pitcher Alison Owen has seen just about everything that Southeastern Conference softball has to offer.
During her career with Georgia and MSU, Owen has learned a great deal about the conference.
Owen will start going through the league one more time this weekend when State hosts the Kentucky Wildcats. Today's first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Investigators arrested 20-year-old James N. Brown III Friday on suspicion of dog theft at his West Point home after a search reportedly led them to two stolen pit bulls.

MSU shuts out South Alabama in baseball

The Mississippi State Bulldogs struck early Wednesday night.
The No. 14 Bulldogs collected five hits and three runs, all in the first three innings, in a 3-0 victory over South Alabama at Dudy Noble Field.
