Fire damages home

An Oktibbeha County family home burned Monday morning, but everyone home escaped the flames without injury.

East Oktibbeha County Volunteer Fired Department Sgt. Tyler Ricchetti said the department responded at 9:58 a.m. to a stove fire at 938 Turkey Creek Road southeast of Starkville.

Supes delay CA decision

The process for hiring a new Oktibbeha County administrator met another delay Monday evening as county supervisors ended a more than 3-hour session without moving forward on the issue.

The county is currently in the process of searching for an administrator to succeed former county administrator Don Posey, who retired in December after 18 years at the position.
