Bulldogs attempt to bounce back in next home set

Mississippi State's baseball identity was built around a solid pitching staff and good defensive play last season.
The No. 2 Bulldogs committed three errors and gave up three runs in the ninth inning in a 6-4 loss to Memphis on Wednesday.
MSU head coach John Cohen wants his team to get back to that identity they had last season.

SHS awaits facility improvements

Starkville High School athletic director Dr. Stan Miller and his team began working on some much needed athletic facility improvements one year ago.
On Tuesday night, the bids for those projects were unanimously approved by the school board.

Baseball jamboree gets Jackets started

Anyone who has driven by the Starkville High School baseball complex during the afternoon hours over the last several weeks has noticed several cars parked along the hill.
The Yellowjackets can usually be found either inside the indoor facility or out on the field during that time preparing for the 2014 season.

Mr. Maynard King, 83, passed away February 13, 2014 in Monticello, Fla. Services are saturday February 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Rockhill U.M. Church in Starkville, MS. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitations are Friday February 21, 2014 from 2-6 p.m. at Century Hairston Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Rev. Dr. Melvin R. King, Sr. will be officiating.
