Leonard Hood Brandon, M.D., age 86, of Starkville, Mississippi, passed away on June 7, 2013 at 7:25 p.m. with his family by his side. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him and found him to be a steady and loving father, husband, friend and doctor.
Mr. James Thomas Bland, 87, of Maben, MS; passed away at his residence.
He was a veteran of World War II, a guard at the Nuremberg Trials, a Postmaster for Cumberland, and a Rural Mail carrier for Maben. He also loved to bow hunt.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Mississippi State offense started the season out with 21 hits against Portland.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs had a flashback.Â
No. 12 (Collegiate Baseball) MSU pounded out 20 hits and beat the No. 6 Virginia Cavaliers 11-6 at Davenport Field in the first game of the Charlottesville Super Regional.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The First Year Player draft has taken place the past three days.
Several Mississippi State Bulldogs have seen their names called.
Junior outfielder Hunter Renfroe was taken by the San Diego Padres with the 13th overall pick Thursday night. Junior shortstop Adam Frazier was taken the Pittsburgh Pirates in the sixth round on Friday.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Adam Frazier has been a hitting machine for Mississippi State.
The junior shortstop went 6-for-6Â and was a home run shy of the cycle in a 11-6 win over No. 6 (Collegiate Baseball) Virginia in the first game of the Charlottesville Super Regional.Â
It was a situation that Mississippi State seemed to handle about as well as it could.
When the NCAA Committee of Infractions released their findings on Friday and handed down its ruling for the Bulldog football program, the penalties could have been much worse.

Whitetails Unlimited is set to takeover the establishment on June 22 to host its first banquet in the state of Mississippi. The theme of the evening might be hunting, but the focus will all be on the Catch-A-Dream Foundation.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – A day after Hunter Renfroe saw his name called in the first round, he saw three of his teammates experience the same excitement he did of being drafted.
Mississippi State junior shortstop Adam Frazier was drafted in the sixth round by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday.
