PEARL – The Starkville Yellowjackets had a dynamic duo at the Class 5A State championships Saturday afternoon.
Kate Mattox and Damian Grady each claimed a pair of individual State titles in distance events as the SHS boys and girls teams both finished fifth in the state.

Neither rain, nor the Harvard Crimson, could keep the Mississippi State men's tennis team from reaching the NCAA Round of 16 for the first time since 2001 on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs had to come back from losing the doubles point and waiting through two rain delays before catching fire in singles and taking the match over the Crimson 4-1 at Pitts Tennis Centre.
MABEN – The importance of winning game one of a series is always important in the mind of East Webster softball coach Lee Berryhill.
As the Class 2A North State championship best-of-three series with the Baldwyn Lady Bearcats began, that approach didn't change.
