Bulldogs prepare for Aggies during trying week

This has been a trying week for the Mississippi State football program.
On top of getting ready for No. 11 Texas A&M, the Bulldogs have dealt with the loss of family member.
Dak Prescott's mother, Peggy, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday morning. The funeral was on Wednesday and MSU head coach Dan Mullen was in Haughton, La., for the service.

Alwal looks to get 'meaner' for Bulldogs

Mississippi State women's basketball coach Vic Schaefer wants center Martha Alwal to take her game to the next level.
When it comes to playing in the always strong Southeastern Conference, Schaefer knows it's easier said than done.
Schaefer has confidence that Alwal has that potential or wouldn't ask it of her.

MSU loses 3-1 to Ole Miss in front of large crowd

There was a strong student presence and a large crowd in general for Wednesday night's Southeastern Conference volleyball match between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and their rival Ole Miss Rebels.
The second-largest crowd in Newell-Grissom Building history of 1,633 looked on as MSU dropped a 3-1 match to Ole Miss.

Alana Marsh Aucoin

Alana Marsh Aucoin, 52, of Pheba, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point on Sunday, November 3, 2013. 
She was a Special Education teacher with the Oktibbeha County School system until she became disabled. Alana graduated from MSU, where she served as a Diamond Girl for four years.

Eria Gay Kennard, 87, died October 31, 2013 in Gary, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 8, 2013 @ Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Hwy. 182 West, Starkville, MS with Reverend Lee Brand, Jr., officiating.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2013 @ West Memorial Funeral Home in Starkville, MS from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM.

Brown elected prosecutor

Haley Brown cruised to an easy victory over two opposing candidates in Tuesday’s Oktibbeha County Prosecutor special election.

Matthew Wilson and Brace Knox also ran in the race to replace former county prosecutor Roy Carpenter, who resigned in June after 30 years of service.
