JACKSONVILLE, Fla. â€” Mississippi State was looking to extend its bowl winning streak to six games, while Northwestern was looking to win its first bowl game since 1949.
When the dust settled, the No. 21 (Associated Press) Wildcats (10-3) ended their nine-game bowl losing streak.

In a day where the passing game was not working, the Bulldogs looked towards Josh Robinson and LaDarius Perkins to establish an offensive surge on the ground.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. â€“ Taking with them a 29-22 record, the 2012 Mississippi State senior class finished as the winningest senior class in over a decade.
â€śWe didnâ€™t finish this thing out like we wanted to, but those seniors had a good run here at Mississippi State," Bulldogs running back LaDarius Perkins said. "Those were some great seniors that we had.â€ť

The Bulldogs (8-4) face off against the No. 21 (Associated Press) Wildcats today in the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. and can be seen on ESPN2.
