BOSTON (AP) — Two bombs exploded near the finish of the Boston Marathon on Monday, killing two people, injuring 23 others and sending authorities rushing to aid wounded spectators, race organizers and police said.
One runner, a Rhode Island state trooper, said he saw at least two dozen people with very serious injuries, including missing limbs.

It turned out to be quite a weekend for senior pitcher Stephanie Becker and the Mississippi State softball team.
After setting the career strikeout mark at MSU in Saturday's 6-5 victory over the Ole Miss Rebels, Becker was especially effective on Sunday and recorded her second career no-hitter as the Bulldogs defeated the Rebels 8-0 in six innings.
The Starkville Yellowjackets hope familiar surroundings makes a difference today.
After hosting several meets at the Mississippi State golf course this season, the Jackets and Lady Jackets welcome in the teams from Class 5A, Region 2, District 6 for the region tournament.
