The No. 12 seed MSU was ousted from the Southeastern Conference women's tennis tournament at A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre on the Lady Bulldogs' campus by a 4-0 loss to No. 5 seed Tennessee.Â

After clinching the division earlier in the week, Starkville Academy decided to give its younger players the chance to gain experience during a Thursday doubleheader contest with Parklane Academy.
Playing a majority of underclassmen, the Volunteers fell to the Parklane Pioneers 14-0 during the first game.

Midway through the Southeastern Conference portion of its baseball schedule, Mississippi State has found its stride.
The No. 18 (Collegiate Baseball) Bulldogs (30-9, 8-7) welcome the Auburn Tigers (23-14, 5-10) to Dudy Noble Field starting today.

The Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs dropped the first set in four of five singles matches to the Missouri Tigers on Wednesday.
Even in the face of that adversity, the Lady Bulldogs found a way to rally and earned a 4-2 victory over the 56th-ranked Tigers in the first round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament at the Pitts Tennis Centre.
The skills that Carnail Minor showed on the court during his time at Starkville Academy enabled him to pick up Starkville Daily News Player of the Year honors.
Now, it is time for the former Volunteer to turn his attention to the next level.

The Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs hope the homecourt advantage will be a factor in their favor as they look to make a run in the Southeastern Conference Tournament this week.

Super Bulldog Weekend will be an important one for Mississippi State athletics this year.
The Bulldogs host a key Southeastern Conference baseball series with the Auburn Tigers, while the Maroon-White Spring Football Game on Saturday gives fans a peak of what has been taking place during spring practice over the last few weeks.
Services for Thelma “Granny” Williams, 90, will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Adaton Baptist Church. Viewing will be from 1:00-2:30 p.m. The memorial service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Tom Daniel and Rev. Hal Selby will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery. Mrs. Williams died Monday, April 15, 2013 in her home in Starkville.
