Minnie Rogers can’t exactly remember how many consecutive years she’s applied with the city of Starkville for a home grant to replace her 307 1/2 West Main St. residence. It had been at least 10, she said, but maybe more.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs wore maroon "B" baseball caps in game one of the Southeastern Conference series with the Auburn Tigers on Thursday night to recognize and remember the recent bombings in Boston.
To further support the city of Boston, the hats were available for auction on hailstate.com beginning Friday afternoon and will be on the auction block until April 26 at 5 p.m.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs have been working all spring towards the annual Maroon and White football game.
Today, they have reached the game and get to showcase what they have learned to the fans.

EUPORA – It wasn't the type of start the Eupora Lady Eagles were looking for in the Class 2A State softball playoffs.
After falling behind 5-0 the Hatley Tigers in the first inning, the Lady Eagles cut the margin to two runs before giving up eight more runs in the fourth frame and ended up losing a 14-4 decision at home in five innings.

Starkville School District’s recent discussions about expanding Emerson Family Center’s preschool program have left the future of Emerson’s toddler and infant care programs in question, creating concern in Emerson’s Parent Teacher Organization.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs looked to be on the way to their fourth-straight Southeastern Conference victory.
Then lightening struck, literally.
The No. 18 Bulldogs (30-9, 8-7) were leading the Auburn Tigers (23-14, 5-10) 6-3 Thursday night in the bottom of the seventh inning when a flash of lightning was seen in the sky.
The Starkville High School tennis team did a good job of focusing on the task at hand Thursday afternoon.
Despite the potential distractions, the Yellowjackets swept the first round Class 5A playoff match over the Saltillo Tigers 7-0 at home.
