TVA offers overview of outage prevention

TVA will be performing maintenance on the rights of way for its power lines in the Starkville area over the next 12 months, and representatives gave a presentation at TVA's Starkville Customer Service Center Tuesday to provide insight into this process and the need for it.

City to consider CDBG grant modifications

March 19, 2013

Starkville aldermen will consider approving modifications to its Community Development Block Grant for the Cooley Center project to remove budget components that are no longer part of the development and add a line item for a construction management team when they meet 5:30 p.m. today at City Hall.

Board seeks rep for payroll request case

March 19, 2013

Oktibbeha County Supervisors voted unanimously Monday with District 3 Supervisor Marvel Howard absent to authorize Board Attorney Jack Brown to contact attorneys from which they could choose to represent them in a potential circuit court case stemming from a stalemate on a payroll change request made by county Tax Assessor Allen Morgan during the board’s March 4 meeting.

City restaurant tax revenues rise

The city of Starkville’s 2-percent restaurant tax revenues got off to a roaring start in 2013, growing more than 30 percent in January 2013 versus January 2012, according to the city’s monthly sales tax report.

Bradford battles for the Bulldogs

Revamped Garden Expo coming to Horse Park
