Panthers progress throughout season

The French Camp Panthers began the season as favorites to play in the state championship game.
French Camp had made the trip last year, but was defeated by Stringer. This year the Panthers had everyone back so the odds were in their favor, but as the season got underway, the tale took a different turn for French Camp.

The Bulldogs swat Lady Hornets 75-49

December 8, 2013

Mississippi State's women basketball team erased all doubt within the first 4 minutes of Saturday night's ballgame.
The Bulldogs opened the game on an 11-0 run and never looked back as they knocked off the Alabama State Lady Hornets 75-49 inside Humphrey Coliseum.
With the win, MSU improved to 9-1 for the season, the best start for the women's team since the 2008-09 campaign.

December 6th

James Thomas Harrell

December 7, 2013

James Thomas Harrell passed away on Wednesday December 4, 2013 due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident at the age of 22. He was born November 4, 1991. He was a 2010 graduate of West Point high School and attended Mississippi State University. He was presently employed by Harrell General Contractors. James was an Eagle Scout who loved to be outside and enjoyed hiking and traveling.

Bulldogs wait for bowl invite

The Mississippi State Bulldogs locked up a fourth-straight bowl appearance with their victory against Ole Miss on Thanksgiving night.
Bowl announcements won’t be made until Sunday night, but the Bulldogs look to either be in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn. or the BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham, Ala.

French Camp captures first state championship

After French Camp claimed the Class A South State championship, Jesse Hosket said he would not celebrate until after the state championship.
Hosket can finally celebrate because on Friday the Panthers defeated Smithville 27-6 to claim the school’s first football State championship.

Erving values time on field for Panthers

JACKSON – Football is an emotional game.
When Michael Erving finally got back on the field to play for the French Camp Panthers earlier this season, he cried tears of joy.
On Friday at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium, there was also a feeling of joy once again as he helped the Panthers win the Class A State championship.

Lady Jackets find easy win in Columbus

COLUMBUS – There was nothing going to stand in front of the Starkville Lady Yellowjackets way, not the Columbus Lady Falcons or the rain.
The Lady Jackets battled a 45-minute delay for a leak in the roof and went on to a 62-38 victory over the Lady Falcons in a Class 6A, Region 3, District 4 matchup Friday night.

Bulldogs toppled by Horned Frogs

The Mississippi State Bulldogs kept digging themselves deeper and deeper into a hole, until it decided to stop and try and climb out.
MSU got nearly out of the hole on Thursday night, before it fell back down and were unable to recover.
The Bulldogs trailed the TCU Horned Frogs by 18 early in the second half, before cutting the lead down to three points with 2:28 left. 

Loss by MSU doesn't help SEC in Challenge

The Southeastern Conference has not fared well in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
With Mississippi State's 71-61 loss to TCU on Thursday night, the SEC fell to 3-2 in the series.
Alabama got the conference off on the right note with a 76-64 victory over Texas Tech on Nov. 14, but Texas defeated Vanderbilt and Iowa State handled Auburn on Monday.

EMCC running backs form dangerous duo

SCOOBA - One is a former Starkville Yellowjacket and the other is a former West Point Green Wave.
