EUPORA – It may be between football seasons for the Eupora Eagles, but they are not taking any time off.
After a season that saw the team finish second in the state, coach Junior Graham and his staff are hard at work rebuilding and reloading.
“We have a lot of young faces out there to replace the departing seniors,” Graham said.
Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant visited delegates at American Legion Boys State at Mississippi State University Wednesday as delegates transitioned from primaries to elections for their mock state’s top offices and began choosing projects for their cities.

Giulia Martinoli said she did not know what to expect when she first left Italy and arrived in the United States as part of the Rotary International’s Youth Exchange Program last July — she just knew she had finally achieved a childhood dream.
After a 28-year run with the Starkville Fire Department, ladder truck No. 2 will hang up its hoses. The department welcomed its replacement Wednesday, a new custom-built engine complete with a 75-foot aluminum ladder, a more modernized and easily serviceable puc pump, and dual foam capabilities for combating standard fires and those involving accelerants.
The Boy Scouts of America voted last Thursday to end a policy forbidding openly gay youth from participating in its ranks.
More than 1,400 volunteer leaders from across the country voted on the issue. Of them, more than 60 percent approved the policy change.

Mr. Jimmy White, 69, died 5/27/13 at the Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora with burial to follow in the Maben Memorial Cemetery in Maben. Visitation will be Thursday, May 30 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr.
Mr. Hulon Arthur Morgan, 84 of Maben, MS, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
He was very passionate about his music. He played in the Maben Church of God Band. He also played lead guitar for Morgan Davis Family.
