SCOOBA â€“ Starkville High School has produced some good college and junior college players over the past few years.
Gabe Myles is in his first season with the Mississippi State Bulldogs. while Quez Johnson was the starting quarterback for the East Mississippi Community College Lions last season.

SCOOBA â€“ Marcus Wood considers two special places when thoughts of football emerge and he really doesn't think there can be one without the other.
Wood, a Starkville native, is also the offensive coordinator for East Mississippi Community College. There has always been a bond between the two locations, but Wood has worked on making the relationship between the two areas even closer.
Fans were treated to twice the fast-pitch softball varsity action Monday as Starkville Academy welcomed Hillcrest to town for a doubleheader.
Facing what their coach calls â€śone of the better pitchersâ€ť the team has seen thus far, the bats the Lady Volunteers held in their hands just did not produce as Hillcrest took the first contest 14-0 and the second 12-1.
Kristee Harpole Trammell (51) was granted her angel wings on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends whose lives were inspired by her incredible spirit. A memorial service were held Monday, August 19, 2013, at 6:30 p.m.
Society is always looking for the next new thing to aid people in weight loss, and this summer that help has come in the form of body wraps.
Body wraps have been around for years, but exploded during 2013. Facebook pages are filled with "before and after" pictures of those who have used the body wraps, showing the inches they have lost.
Over the years, Susan Tomlinson has worked tirelessly to create better environments for children in the Starkville School District.
Tomlinson has spent countless hours door knocking, fundraising and anything else that would benefit the public schools.
