Roy Carpenter began his work as the county prosecutor 30 years ago. He’s been the city prosecutor for 28 years.

Davis Wade expansion: Facelift at MSU's home moving forward

The 2013 college football season is just around the corner and Mississippi State Bulldog fans will have a different view of Davis Wade Stadium this fall.
MSU's venue for home games is in the midst of a $75 million expansion and renovation project that will increase the capacity from 55,082 to 61,337. 

Lee answers call, returns to Bulldogs

Former Mississippi State quarterback Tyson Lee is back on campus.
After serving as a scouting assistant for the St. Louis Rams, Lee felt the call to return to the Golden Triangle area and help the Bulldogs in some way.
Lee has been serving MSU and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as a field associate for the past month.

MSU's Norris inks with Detroit Tigers

Daryl Norris tweeted Friday afternoon that he will sign a contract with the Detroit Tigers.
The Mississippi State junior right hander was drafted in the 22nd round by the Tigers earlier this month in Major League Baseball's First-Year Amateur draft. 
Norris took to Twitter Friday to let his decision be known and to thank the many Bulldog fans that supported him.

For East Webster, that makes it the perfect time to get in some extra practice and to prepare for the upcoming season.
“The summer league is giving us some good experience which I enjoy because they need all the reps they can get,” Wolverines coach Corey Stidham said.

Student loan rates feared to double

Federal student loan interest rates are set to double on Monday.

Unless Congress agrees to a last-minute deal, the rate for federal subsidized Stafford loans, which currently sits at 3.4 percent, will double to 6.8 percent.
