Bulldogs see Beavers again: MSU gets ready to face Oregon State at College World Series

OMAHA, Neb. – Mississippi State is use to playing a team three or four times in one season.
The No. 7 (Collegiate Baseball) Bulldogs will have to do it again, but this time in the College World Series.

Masters manages visit with Bulldogs

OMAHA, Neb. – Father Burke Masters just happens to be teaching a class at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., and Mississippi State just happens to be playing in the College World Series in the same city.
The priest of the Chicago Cubs played baseball for the Bulldogs from 1987-90 with current MSU head coach John Cohen.

Clippers come back to beat Knights 7-3

The Clippers saw the door opened and they took advantage of the situation.
After being retired for five-straight outs to begin Thursday's game to the Knights in the United States Speciality Sports Association 11-Under State Tournament, the Clippers had six-consecutive batters to reach and score four times in the second inning. The Clippers went on to a 7-3 victory over the Knights.

Knights bounce back for win

As pool play continued in the United States Speciality Sports Association 11-year old State championships, the Starkville Knights defeated Vicksburg Billies 6-5.
After losing game one to the Columbus Clippers, the Knights took a note from Mississippi State and asked their coach to let them loosen up and have a little fun.

Teams use big innings in USSSA pool play

The big innings appeared to be the theme on Thursday as the United States Speciality Sports Association 11-Under State Tournament got underway at the Starkville Sportsplex.
The Mississippi Bash used a five-run fourth inning for insurance in their game as they earned a 10-2 victory against the Golden Spikes 11-U Navy in the Class A division.
