Rivals play in front of 7,421 in Hoover

HOOVER, Ala. – Alabama and Auburn have one of the most fierce rivalries in the nation.
On Tuesday, the two teams faced off in the first round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament for the first time since 2010.
The No. 7 seed Crimson Tide scored three runs in the eighth inning to take a 6-3 win over the No. 10 seed Tigers and sent them home in front of 7,421.

Miller begins new search for SHS coach

It has been a little over a year since Starkville High School athletic director Stan Miller has had to look for a baseball coach.
After Brian Jones announced his resignation on Monday to take the same position at Pearl, Miller was ready to begin that process again as well as wish his former coach well.

Aldermen to hear audit report

Starkville Board of Aldermen will hear the city's 2012 audit report during its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at City Hall and discuss how to deal with an audit finding related to a Parks Commission project.

Jones leaves SHS baseball for position at Pearl

That era will only consist of one season.
