Program for deaf, blind has slow start in Miss.

A new program rolled out last summer across the nation to provide new ways for deaf-blind citizens to connect and interact with the world around them, but it’s been a surprisingly hard sell in Mississippi.

Petal man killed in wreck

A Petal man was killed early Friday morning when his Toyota Camry collided head-on with an 18-wheeler on Highway 82 about two miles west of the intersection with Highway 182.

Bulldogs rally to beat Gators

April 6, 2013

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have gotten accustomed to being behind after the first inning in Southeastern Conference games.
It happened again Friday, but MSU was able to overcome the early deficit.
The No. 24 (Collegiate Baseball) Bulldogs rallied from behind to beat the Florida Gators 7-3 in the Friday night in the first of three games at Dudy Noble Field.

MSU staff anxious to see scrimmage

The Mississippi State football staff has been gradually adding new things to spring practice everyday.
Thursday's practice marked the last day to add things. Those coaches will get to see if their players have taken in the knowledge today when the Bulldogs scrimmage at Davis Wade Stadium at noon.

SHS sweeps Canton at home

Break out the brooms.
Starkville High knocked off the Canton Tigers on Tuesday, then on Friday, the pair met once again for a doubleheader. The result was exactly the same this time as the Yellowjackets picked up a pair of victories to complete the sweep.
