It is a mixed blessing to travel alone. I do get to choose what I want to eat — that I like. (To be fair, however, I get to choose more than my fair share when not alone. Sometimes I’m democratic, sometimes I’m a dictator. But it’s for their own good.)  But eating by myself? I like that less.

Dr. Donald Wayne Zacharias, 77, President Emeritus of Mississippi State University, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Starkville. He was the beloved husband of Tommie Kline Zacharias, his wife of 53 years.

A public memorial service celebrating the life and service of Dr. Zacharias will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7 in the MSU Colvard Student Union’s Foster Ballroom.

School merger bill amended
