More than 30 people applied for Starkville’s Community Development Director position, and the list has been narrowed down to four candidates who will interview for the position Feb. 6 at the Starkville Sportsplex.
That list includes Joseph Cooley, Charles C. Ross, Donovan Scruggs and William Snowden.
The Starkville Yellowjackets might have had a different story to tell today if games were decided by a team’s performance in the first half.
However, the second half proved to be quite the boost for the Yellowjackets, who rolled to a 72-48 win over Noxubee County Friday night.
Kelsye Reed banging inside and getting rebounds with Kasey Jett playing defense and getting steals.
That's come to be expected out of the two seniors who play for the Starkville Lady Yellowjackets.
Reed and Jett have helped the Lady Jackets to records of 13-6 overall and 4-1 in Class 5A, Region 2.
It's not easy to enjoy the success the Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers are having right now.
Starkville Academy continued to roll towards perfection with a 71-43 win over Jackson Prep Friday night to improve to an impressive 31-0.
If any team could use a win to boost its confidence, it's the Mississippi State men's basketball team.
The Bulldogs have lost their last five games and lost their last three inside Humphrey Coliseum. MSU (7-12, 2-5) host LSU (11-7, 2-5) today in the 203rd meeting between the two teams.
Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and can be seen on Fox Sports South.
There hasn't been this amount of buzz around the Mississippi State baseball team in a long time.
The 2013 Bulldogs have garnered a good amount of preseason recognition. The team was ranked by most every poll in the preseason.
Mississippi State is ranked as low as 18th in one poll and as high as 5th by Baseball America.
Starkville Academy soccer coach Robert Gardner knew how important senior day was for captain Davis Pigg.
Prior to Christmas, Pigg experienced the death of his father Jason and has dedicated each win in memory of him.
On Friday, Pigg scored a pair of goals as the Volunteers shut out Parklane Academy 8-0 in the final regular season home match at the Starkville Sportsplex.
