No Sturgis bike rally coming in 2013

Representatives from the city of Sturgis and the Sturgis South Bike Rally Board confirmed Thursday that plans for a 2013 Sturgis motorcycle rally have been canceled, ending negotiations between the city and motorcycle rally boards for the year.

Tough time with Tigers: Losing skid for Bulldogs stretches to nine games

The Mississippi State Bulldogs haven't seen a losing season in basketball in over 12 years.

It came back around on Wednesday night. 

The Missouri Tigers (18-6 overall, 7-4 Southeastern Conference) cruised to an easy 78-36 victory over Mississippi State (7-16, 2-9) inside Humphrey Coliseum.

It was not very pretty on the basketball court Wednesday night for Mississippi State.

During a season when quite a bit has gone wrong for the Bulldogs, it got worse against the Missouri Tigers.

All phases of the game seemed to work against MSU in a 78-36 loss at Humphrey Coliseum. The Bulldogs were out-shot, out-rebounded and sadly out-hustled at times, especially in the first half.

Mississippi State head football coach Dan Mullen will see a familiar face around the Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Mullen had hired former Illinois assistant coach Billy Gonzales to coach wide receivers.

Wood signs to continue tennis career at Holmes CC

Katie Wood of Starkville High School called her opportunity to sign a tennis scholarship with Holmes Community College "a big deal."

It was considered big for Wood personally, for the Yellowjacket program and for Holmes Community College.

The SHS athlete shared the signing experience on Wednesday with family and coaches Wednesday afternoon at the school.
