JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Mississippi State offense didn't give the defense much of a chance Tuesday afternoon.
They answered the call for the most part, but it wasn't enough as No. 21 (Associated Press) Northwestern (10-3) beat the Bulldogs 34-20 in the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl at EverBank Field.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Taking with them a 29-22 record, the 2012 Mississippi State senior class finished as the winningest senior class in over a decade.
“We didn’t finish this thing out like we wanted to, but those seniors had a good run here at Mississippi State," Bulldogs running back LaDarius Perkins said. "Those were some great seniors that we had.”

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Northwestern Wildcats are taking the same approach, but in totally different ways.
The Bulldogs (8-4) face off against the No. 21 (Associated Press) Wildcats today in the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. and can be seen on ESPN2.

After two failed city facility bond referendums — the most recent one in 2011 — 2012 will be remembered as the year when city officials found a way to fund construction of a new city hall and renovations to turn the current facility into a revamped police station without the use of taxpayer dollars.
