Having won five of their last six games, it seems things are starting to click for the Starkville Academy Volunteers.
On Saturday, the team demonstrated its chemistry as the Volunteers defeated the Raiders of Oak Hill Academy 56-37.
LOUISVILLE â The Starkville Christian School Cougars have played tournaments during the five-year history of the school and never came away as champions.
That is until Saturday night.
The Cougars defeated Tupelo Christian 48-44 in the championship game of the Grace Christian Invitational for the title.

Steven and Elena Pan of Starkville are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Melody Siew-lee Pan, to Mr. Jack Foster Cook, son of Michael and Lee Cook.
Jacqueline Nicole Myers of Bloomington, Ill., formerly of Starkville, and Timothy James Croxdale of Bloomington, Ill., formerly of Memphis, Tenn., were united in marriage at three oâ clock in the afternoon on Nov. 2, 2012 at the Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort in Morelos, Mexico.
