Reaching new heights: MSU baseball's run at CWS chosen top sports story of 2013

The Mississippi State baseball program reached new heights in 2013.
After advancing to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., the Bulldogs worked all of the way into the NCAA National Championship Series.
MSU fell short of the goal of the national title and finished second in the nation to UCLA, but it was still good enough for the best season of any team sport in school history.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Dan Mullen hasn’t had a losing season at Mississippi State since his first year directing the Bulldogs.
MSU finished 5-7 in 2009, but rattled off three-straight winning seasons and three bowl appearances.

It took the Mississippi State Bulldogs a little while to get things back in gear Monday night.
Once the Bulldogs shook off some holiday rust, they showed why they have won 13 out of 14 games so far this season.
