MSU chief arrested for DUI

Mississippi State University placed university Police Chief Georgia Lindley on paid administrative leave Thursday night, after Starkville police reportedly arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence.

SPD Capt. Frank Nichols said Lindley was arrested Thursday. She posted bond after her arrest and was not booked into Oktibbeha County Jail.

Mississippi ranks poorly in study of driving quality

Mississippi drivers are the third-worst in the country, according to a recent study.

The study, which car insurance website www.carinsurancecomparison.com carried out, ranks the states and District of Columbia from first to worst based on statistics pulled from the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration, the National Motorists Association and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Over the years, the Joe Horne Christmas Classic in Columbus has blossomed into one of the top tournaments in the area.
