MSU wind ensemble performs concert with alumnus of year

After 12 years away from his hometown, Starkville native Quincy Hilliard returned this week. Hilliard was awarded Mississippi State University music department’s 2013 alumnus of the year and was welcomed back to campus during the week.

“The one thing about this team is a different player has stepped up every time we have needed them to,” Eagles coach Junior Graham said. “We have not been consistent as far as the same guy doing it every night. Throughout the course of the season, guys have stepped up when we have needed them to.”

Bulldogs look to start strong

Coach Rick Ray and the Mississippi State Bulldogs are looking to start off the 2013-14 basketball season on the right foot.
In Ray's first season last year, the Bulldogs lost to Troy 56-53 on the road to start the season.
The Bulldogs play at home to open this season and against a less inferior opponent.
