Choctaw County keeps on coming together as team

Earlier last week, Jamarcus Bradley said teams had better watch out for Choctaw County this season because their time was now.
The Chargers quarterback was speaking in reference to those that said with the area schools combining, it might take a while for success to come their way.
After starting out the season 5-1, it seems as though Bradley’s prediction might be coming true.

Russell reaches milestone in his return to MSU huddle

Tyler Russell has been one of the best quarterbacks Mississippi State has ever seen.
On Saturday night, he took another step in that direction.
The senior signal caller threw for two touchdowns in a 59-26 loss to No. 10 LSU to give him 39 in his career, the most ever by a Bulldog quarterback.

Over the last 14 years or so, the LSU game hasn't been kind to Mississippi State. 
That was no different Saturday night.
The Bulldogs dropped a 59-26 decision to No. 10 LSU for their 14th-consecutive loss to the Tigers.

After losing a 59-26 decision to LSU at Davis Wade Stadium Saturday night, MSU head coach Dan Mullen is still looking for that signature win in the Southeastern Conference since taking over the program in 2009.

The Northwest Rankin Cougars were the homecoming opponent for the Starkville Yellowjackets Friday night and they came with gifts.
Northwest Rankin lost fumbles at the beginning of each half of play and Starkville took advantage of each situation to score points.

Volunteers drop home decision

Friday's game against the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots got away from the Starkville Academy Volunteers early.
Madison-Ridgeland got out to a commanding 21-0 lead after just one quarter. The Patriots ultimately went on to win the game in a dominating fashion 40-0.

East Oktibbeha loses to French Camp 43-0

CRAWFORD – Traveling to play teams on the road can be tough, and French Camp has certainly experienced their share of tough road contests this season.
However, the Panthers were able to take care of business on Friday night, shutting out the East Oktibbeha Titans 43-0, and picking up their first road win of the year.

Choctaw County wins first Region 5 outing

ACKERMAN – Choctaw County coach Adam Dillinger wanted to be 1-0 in Class 3A, Region 5 when Friday ended.
He got his wish as the Chargers knocked off Raleigh 48-25.
"We gave a complete effort (Friday)," Dillinger said. "We came out and played hard in a division game, but it starts all over next week. We have to line up again and do it next week."
