NEWTOWN, Conn. â€” Investigators tried to figure out what led a bright but painfully awkward 20-year-old to slaughter 26 children and adults at a Connecticut elementary school, while townspeople sadly took down some of their Christmas decorations and struggled Saturday with how to go on.
The Mississippi State men's basketball team has not had much success away from home this season.
Today, it looks to turn that around.
This is the first chance for many of the younger Mississippi State football players to prep for a bowl game.
All of the freshman are gearing up for their first bowl game, and the redshirt freshman are also looking for an opportunity to play.
Starkville Academy softball player Mary Austin Barber has known for a while that Belhaven would be her destination for softball at the next level.
She made the move official this week.
Barber signed with the Jackson-based school and celebrated the occasion with family and friends Friday night at Meadowview Baptist Church.
Eupora and West Oktibbeha tipped off Friday evening. At nightâ€™s end the teams split with the Lady Eagles taking a 50-47 victory, while the Timberwolves claimed the boyâ€™s contest 81-36.
The Lady Eagles and Lady Timberwolves faced off in what resulted in a back and forth contest that came down to the last period before Eupora left the court victorious.
