School officials mindful of safety, emotions

Before students returned to school Monday, Starkville School District educators and administrators said they already knew how important the first day back to work would be following Friday’s massacre which killed almost 30 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Mullen pleased with scrimmage

For Mississippi State there are two phases to a bowl practices.

The first phase is getting the younger guys some reps and getting the veterans a break.
Sunday the first phase ended.

The Bulldogs capped off the first phase with a scrimmage inside the Palmeiro Center due to the rain.

Gaynor helps MSU women win down stretch

The Mississippi State Bulldogs looked to a senior down the stretch when they needed a victory Sunday afternoon.

Darriel Gaynor scored all nine of her points in the second half as MSU won 67-57 in women's basketball action at Humphrey Coliseum.

After being shut out in the first half with only 6 minutes of play, Gaynor stepped up when her team needed scoring.

Starkville school teams earn honors in robotics

OCH sees rise in flu cases during 2012-2013 season

With Mississippi seeing an increase of flu cases this holiday season, OCH Regional Medical Center officials encourage residents to take advantage of the flu shot.

OCH Director of Infection Control Kim Roberts said the hospital has seen a rise in flu cases this year.
