EUPORA – In Lee Berryhill's first season, the East Webster slowpitch softball team greeted him with a Class 2A, Region 5, District 4 championship.
The Lady Wolverines took care of business and beat Eupora 7-2 Thursday to ensure the title.
The Mississippi Board of Education has voted to ask Gov.
JACKSON, MISS — The Mississippi Board of Education (MBE) determined that an extreme emergency situation exists in the Oktibbeha County School District. Acting on a recommendation from the Mississippi Commission on School Accreditation, the MBE voted unanimously to ask Gov. Phil Bryant to declare a state of emergency for the school district.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at Double Springs Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Smith officiating.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at Welch Funeral Home in Maben.

Mr. Paul B. Jacob, 90, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012Â in Meridian.
Funeral services will held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Starkville with Rev. Clifton Curtis officiating.
Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 preceding the service.

EUPORA — Mrs. Blanche Doler Allen, 94, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 at the North Mississippi Medical Center Long Term Care Unit in Eupora.
Funeral Services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Old Bethany Cemetery in Webster County.
Visitation will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at the funeral home.
