McDonald helps MSU women to fourth-place finish in golf

WEST POINT – Mississippi State got a strong finish from Ally McDonald on Wednesday to finish fourth in the inaugural Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational.

The MSU sophomore carded a final round of 69 for a 4-under-par score of 212 which was good for a two-way tie for third place. The finish is a career low for McDonald and is the second lowest 54-hole score in MSU women’s golf history.

Banks, Green honored after MSU win

Two members of the Mississippi State football team picked up national honors on Wednesday, which is another indication that the Bulldogs are headed in a positive direction as a team this season.

MSU football coach Dan Mullen likes the identity that his team is beginning to develop after home wins over Jackson State 56-9 and Auburn 28-10.

Baker has ankle sprain for SHS

On Monday, the Jackets got it concerning running back Preston Baker.

Baker, the leading receiver and second-leading rusher for the Jackets, suffered what initially looked like a severe injury to his lower leg in last Friday's 47-22 loss to West Point.
