Mrs. Frances Sherman, 66, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 in Starkville.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at Peter's Rock Church of God in Christ with Rev. Sam Bonner officiating.
Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 with family hour being held 6-7 p.m. at West Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Emma Lee Hendrix, 90, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012 in Meridian.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at Zion Cypress United Methodist Church with Rev. Willie Hendrix officiating.
Burial will follow at Zion Cypress Cemetery.
Visitation will be held noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at West Memorial Funeral Home.

There is just no escaping technology these days. As I entered a new, swanky restaurant on one of my travels, I saw the host tapping away on his iPad. He explained there would be a 15-minute wait and asked for my cell phone number. Mississippi State University released correspondence Tuesday detailing the schoolâs efforts to disassociate an unnamed booster who had âimpermissible contactâ with a prospective student athlete.
Last week, the university announced it was cooperating with the NCAA while it investigated the school for a ârecruiting irregularity.â

Tupelo NBC affiliate WTVA announced in a press release Tuesday that it has entered into an affiliation agreement with the ABC Television Network, meaning there will be no interruption in ABC programming for viewers in the Starkville area despite outgoing ABC affiliate WKDH discontinuing broadcasting at 11:59 p.m. Aug. 31.
