Mr. Odie Lee Randle Jr., 65, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at The Light Outreach of Holiness Temple in Starkville with Minister Emma Austin officiating.
Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Starkville.
Mrs. Willie B. Jones, 68, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at her home in Starkville.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at Sixteenth Section M.B. Church with Rev. Roshell Ashford Minor officiating.
Burial will follow at Lindsey Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at West Memorial Funeral Home.

Northern District Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley will visit Maben today as part of his continuing series of Mississippi rural area stops.
The free meeting will be held at the First Baptist Church of Maben’s gymnasium from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The Starkville Historic Preservation Commission approved a final draft of “Standards for Starkville’s Historic Districts” Tuesday and began planning public hearings on the standards, discussing methods to educate the public about the standards before the hearings.

Mississippi State University’s Colvard Student Union will host a conference Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in an effort to improve graduation rates and post-collegiate success among minority males at MSU and other universities across the country.

The Starkville Academy Volunteers and Magnolia Heights School Chiefs come into Friday night's 7 p.m. game with similar resumes.
Both teams are 1-1, but the Chiefs are coming off a 49-20 victory over Kirk Academy, while the Volunteers suffered a 19-6 loss to Heritage.
SA took last year's game 22-0 in Starkville, but this year the Vols travel to Senatobia.
The weather has certainly played havoc with Southeastern Conference football teams trying to prepare for season-opening games and it caused the postponement of one of those outings.
The Texas A&M Aggies were hoping to get a jump on everyone else in the SEC with a game against Louisiana Tech in Shreveport, La., tonight (Thursday).
The cowbells are ringing in Heaven as the Lord welcomes home one of the most devoted MSU Baseball fans that the university has ever had.Â
Mary Francis Thaxton Lindsey died in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 from continued medical complications.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Starkville.
Mr. Stacy Pete Givens, 94, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed into his next life on Aug. 18, 2012.
Mr. Givens was laid to rest in Mt. Vernon Cemetery on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012.
Schneider Funeral Home of Mt. Vernon was in charge of arrangements.
