The Starkville Academy softball team had seen its share of losses this season, but Saturday they finally had something to celebrate.
The Lady Volunteers beat Washington School 5-4 in four innings in the 10th annual College Exposure Tournament at the Starkville Sportsplex for their first win.
The Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers are using any type of tournament situation to their advantage this softball season.
With two games played at the 10th annual College Exposure Tournament, Starkville Academy saw it as an opportunity to keep building for the future.
An early Saturday morning storm dumped a tremendous amount of rain upon the Starkville Sportsplex softball fields.
With the thought of how wet it was going to be to have a softball tournament, it was necessary to call tournament director Dan Moreland to see if the 10th annual Exposure Tournament was going to be played.
Sam Lenahan knows what hard work means as a member of the Mississippi State softball team.
In her transition from catcher to third base, it's nothing new for Lenahan to face the task at hand with the Lady Bulldogs.
Lenahan goes about her business the same way off the field.

The crowd gathered Saturday for Starkville Public Library’s genealogy workshop are one step closer to completing the puzzles of their past.
Sponsored by the Hic-A-Sha-Ba-Ha chapter of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution, the workshop featured presentations from Kay Parker Evans, Sharon Keys and Caroline Reed.

Even after one week, Laura Richardson and Emma Katherine Hutto already feel at home on the Mississippi State University campus.
