The Starkville Historic Preservation Commission will hold a specially called meeting Aug. 13 to complete the historic preservation guideline evaluation process before the grant paying for the guidelines’ creation expires.
COLUMBUS – It was unclear how much Gabe Myles was going to play Saturday night.
When it was all said he done, he had taken every offensive snap for Starkville High School in its 14-0 victory over the New Hope Trojans in the New Hope Jamboree Saturday night.
"I feel more comfortable because I know the offense," Myles said. "It's my offense. I feel like I'm at home."

When a new bank comes to town, Rob Winklepleck says the bank typically brings its own construction contractor with it.
“Wherever home is for them is where they usually bring their contractors from,” Winklepleck, a project manager with West Brothers Construction, said.

As good as Tyrann Mathieu was on the football field, he could not avoid the off-the-field downfall that led to him being dismissed by the LSU Tigers on Friday.
LSU officials said that Mathieu was no longer a part of the team for breaking an athletic department rule.
EUPORA – It has been quite a busy month for Kaley Harris, the new softball coach at Eupora High School.
That's how long Harris has been on the job at the Webster County school, taking over for Trae Embry, and one of her first tasks was managing the preseason Eupora Classic on Saturday.
Harris was running from field to field and making sure the tournament was on schedule.
