Area schools have questions to answer early in football practice

Improvement seems to be the them for the East Oktibbeha football team this fall.

The Titans start practice today in Crawford and are hoping for a better season than last year.

The Titans ended last year with a 5-6 record. Although East Oktibbeha did not achieve a winning record, several players from last year's squad will be missed.

Lady Vols open softball season at home

The Starkville Academy fastpitch softball team may have to rely on young talent this year.

The Lady Volunteers open the season at home today against Oak Hill with varsity at 4 p.m. and junior varsity at 5:30 p.m.

SA head coach Kayla Mosley is not too concerned with her young players and is ready to meet the new season head on.
