After 30 years, the Summer Scholars on Stage program will once again raise the curtain for its newest original musical comedy.
“Don’t Panic! (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Apocalypse)” premieres tonight at 7 p.m. in the McComas Hall theater at Mississippi State University.

Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a Thursday-morning string of car burglaries in the area of Cardinal Lane, a residential road in western Oktibbeha County.

The Starkville Parks and Recreation Board named Herman Peters interim director at its meeting Thursday.
Peters will fill the position left vacant after former Director Matthew Rye officially stepped down from his duties during the meeting.
The fact that Mississippi State defensive back and former East Webster player Johnthan Banks received additional All-Southeastern Conference recognition on Thursday at SEC Media Days was nothing new.
Banks had already been selected All-SEC by the league's coaches, Phil Steele, Athlon, Blue Ribbon College Football, Football Yearbook, Birmingham News, Lindys and USA Today.
