Although the district was already won, the Starkville High School football team had several reasons to play hard in the last regular season game.
The Yellowjackets beat the Neshoba Central Rockets 21-10 Friday night at Yellowjacket Stadium.
SENATOBIA – The Starkville Academy Volunteers saw a tremendous rally come up short in the fourth quarter and couldn't hold off the Magnolia Heights Chiefs in a 40-28 loss on Friday night.
With the loss, Starkville Academy's season came to an end with a final record of 5-7.
ACKERMAN – The Ackerman Indians took the lead in their playoff game against Broad Street Friday night and never looked back.
When action ceased, it was the Indians taking a 38-0 victory over Broad Street.
CRAWFORD – The East Oktibbeha Titans played the Weir Lions in what is likely to be the last football game in Weir High School's history.
Weir is currently awaiting a decision from the U.S. Justice Department that could scatter current students at Weir throughout Choctaw County. Weir currently holds grades pre-kindergarten to 12th grade.
EUPORA – The Eupora Eagles started the first round of the Class 2A playoffs by beating Coahoma County 49-0 at home Friday.
Eupora's stingy defense had its third shutout of the year.
Quarterback Trey Pittman threw for two touchdowns for the Eagles, a 12-yard reception to Jamall Roby and a 6-yard catch to Juwan Roby.
