The charitable sound of bells ringing are once again filling the Starkville air as the Starkville Salvation Army begins its 2012 Red Kettle Campaign 9 a.m. today at Kroger.
Campaign coordinator Debra Austin said volunteers will ring bells outside of Kroger and Walmart today through Christmas Eve for this year’s Christmas campaign.

Starkville Fire Department officials say they are preparing for increased fire calls associated with cooler temperatures and the increase in home heating usage.

The Greater Starkville Development Partnership has seen its share in the holiday shopping economy grow over the past few years, and its officials seek to continue that growth starting this Black Friday with initiatives and incentives to keep Starkville’s citizens shopping locally.

For the second time this season and fourth time in two seasons, the two rivals play each other.
EUPORA – The Eupora Eagles can move one step closer to their goal of a state championship tonight as the face off with the Bruce Trojans for the Class 2A North State championship.
Kickoff at Eupora High School is set for 7 p.m., and is sure to be a toughly-fought game on both sides.
