The Starkville Yellowjackets got their tremendous trio of seniors in the backfield going on Friday night to secure a first round playoff win in Class 5A.
With quarterback Gabe Myles, tailback Preston Baker and fullback Stanley Higgins leading the way, Starkville was able to defeat the Saltillo Tigers at home 45-7.
MABEN – Two talented and tough football teams lined up Friday night in a challenging class 2A second round playoff game.
Both East Webster Wolverines and Bruce Trojans sported 9-3 records prior to the game and when action came to a close, the Trojans had increased their record by one win with a 35-7 win over the Wolverines.
It was a tale of two halves for the Eupora Eagles.
The Eagles fell behind 8-0 in the first quarter, and found themselves down 8-6 at halftime.

Oktibbeha County School District conservator Jayne Sargent confirmed the goals, motto, mission statement and vision statement for the district at its meeting Monday, planning to reveal more specific methods of achieving these aims at a later date.
