SSD hires former Ga. educator Woodrum

The Starkville School District Board of Trustees unanimously hired Jody Jones Woodrum, a former Bulloch County, Ga. School administrator with 25 years of educational experience, as its newest assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction Tuesday. She starts her job immediately.

Country music act Eli Young Band was selected to replace Neon Trees as co-headliners of the Mississippi State University Student Association-sponsored Bulldog Bash on Nov. 2.

The two other headliners for Mississippi’s largest free outdoor concert are pop singer/songwriter Andy Grammar and country group Gloriana.

Johnson returns from injury to help Bulldogs

A year ago Malcolm Johnson ended his redshirt freshman season with a lot of confidence and year two looked to be a break season for him.

A pectoral injury on his right side sidelined him for the first five games of the season.
The Bulldogs entered the Tennessee game with a 5-0 record and Johnson was cleared to play.

The Starkville Historic Preservation Commission will discuss neighborhood information sessions it has held and will continue holding for its proposed local historic districts, as well as maps of those districts, at its meeting Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall’s Building Department.
