The Starkville School District Board of Trustees could hire a new administrator today after Superintendent Lewis Holloway reveals the preferred candidate for the district’s vacant assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction position.

DECATUR, Ga. — Mr. Marvin Thomas Bond of Decatur, Ga., 82, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, after a battle with primary liver cancer.Â
A service of death and resurrection will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Decatur First United Methodist Church.
A reception will follow at the church.

EAST BREWTON, ALA. — Mr. David Lynn Bell, 63, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 at his East Brewtown, Ala. residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 in the Craver's Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Steve Pendleton officiating.
Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Imtaiz of Starkville, 63, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 in Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 in the chapel of West Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. William Richardson officiating.
Burial will follow at Sixteenth Section Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 1-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at West Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Hershel Wallace Wood, 82, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at The Arbors at Willow Springs in Spring Hill, Tenn.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Curry Funeral Home of Dyersburg, Tenn. is in charge of arrangements.
Hershel was born in Miston, Tenn. He served a short time in the Air Force and farmed in Noxubee and Pickens counties for over 30 years.
Mr. Charles Abbott Little, 85, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at Starkville Manor.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
Visitation will be held 1-3p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at the church.

AMORY –Jerry R. Evans “8 Ball”, 62, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, in Prattville, Ala. as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Starkville with Rev. Joey Sherrard officiating.
Burial will follow at Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.
