The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sturgis Baptist, with burial following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery south of Sturgis.
The Revs. Steve Lammons, Halton Davis and Russell Mord will officiate.
Nate Hughes is holding on lessons he's learned throughout his football career in hopes of making a difference in the National Football League.
The former Starkville High School football player is back in camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars and likes his chances for more playing time.
The Jaguars indicated to Hughes that he may figure more into their plans this season.
Less than a week after beginning preparations for the 2010 football season, it's evident there's a buzz around the Starkville High football program.
First-year SHS coach Jamie Mitchell led the Yellowjackets through a nearly two-hour long scrimmage on Saturday, and plenty of eyes captured it all.
"(The crowd) was awesome," said Mitchell. "We want people to come see us. I'm gonna say there were probably 100 fans here today, and for us that's big. That matters to these kids. They know who's over there and we're just tickled to death."

CRAWFORD â€” The funeral for Misty Glenn Gentry will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Bethesda Baptist Church here.
Burial will follow in the Bethesda Cemetery near Crawford. Bro. Allen Dees will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon, which is handling the arrangements.
Miss Gentry died Friday, July 30, 2010, at her home in Crawford. She was 34. A native of Keokuk, Iowa, she was an artist and a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Crawford.
The funeral for Will Rush Leonard will be today at 11 a.m. at First John Baptist Church in Starkville with burial at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Starkville. The Rev. Therman Cunningham will officiate.
Visitation was held Friday at Century Hairston Funeral Home in Columbus and will be held today from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First John Baptist Church.
Mr. Leonard, 76, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Starkville Manor Nursing Home.
Century Hairston Funeral Home of Columbus will be in charge of funeral arrangements.
