The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Green of Lincoln, Ala. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacque LeBeau.
She is a 2003 graduate of John Carroll Catholic High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Eupora — Mr. James T. Gary, 88, died Friday, July 23, 2010, in Texarkana, Texas at the Cornerstone Methodist Retirement Center. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church in Eupora with burial to follow in the Eupora City Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is in charge of all arrangements.

WEST POINT - Jim Denton, 71, passed away, Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the OCH Regional Medical Center, in Starkville.
James Darnell Denton, Jr. was born October 25, 1938 in West Point, to the late Edwina Tarleton and James Darnell Denton, Sr.
Mr. Denton was a retired Home Marketing Manager for Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church. Jim Denton married Geraldine May Denton April 13, 1991, in Starkville.

Starkville struggles in Dizzy Dean World Series

SOUTHAVEN – After a strong Saturday start at the Dizzy Dean World Series, Starkville’s 8-year-old All-Stars ran into trouble Sunday.
Playing two games in Southaven, Starkville fell to East Cherokee, Ga., 8-1, then lost to in-state foe Saltillo 16-6.
“We played pretty early in the morning so I think everyone was tired and worn out,” said Starkville head coach Shane Grantham. “Overall, we just had a bad day.”
Starkville’s struggles came just one day after a dominating 18-4 win over Oregon Park, Ga., in their DDWS opener.

Eupora’s Trae Embry was the Starkville Daily News Area Softball Coach of the Year. The Eagles’ Lee Berryhill took home SDN’s Area Baseball Coach of the Year honors.
So will head football coach Junior Graham begin staking his claim on the SDN’s postseason football award beginning with today’s first practice?
“Well, both (Embry and Berryhill) deserved the award, no doubt about it,” said Graham. “If you want to start comparing sports here at Eupora, we’re all very fortunate. We’re all very competitive in everything.”

JA's 'Stuff the Bus' to help students

It’s back to school time in Oktibbeha County, and for the Junior Auxiliary, that means it’s time for the annual Stuff the Bus event.
“The purpose of this event is to serve as many children as possible with the funds available,” said Robin Parker, Child Assistance Committee Chair. “Historically this has involved making essential school supplies available to children at the beginning of the school year when those children have been referred by school counselors... It is one of our most important projects because we are able to fill an immediate need of children in our schools.”
